Time for a new seasonal favourites seems like only yesterday I was writing the last one, that's partly because I was pretty late uploading it but also because these last three months have flown by so quickly– I feel like I've blinked and missed them! That's one of the reasons I love making these posts so much, it gives me the chance, at the end of each season to look back and remember my favourite things and moments. And I'm here to share them with you today!

I'm basically just going to ramble about how much I love the Illuminae series in this section. I read Illuminae a couple of years back and loved it but never carried on with the rest of the series until this summer. I reread Illuminae and then read Gemina & Obsidio and I can officially say this is one of my favourite series of all time! If you haven't read this series yet– it's a sci-fi space opera series with a really unique format– it's written entirely in the format of case files, transmissions, instant messages and it's the most addictive thing– I never want to put these books down! If you haven't read them yet or if you're not sure if you'd like the style of them, I definitely recommend just giving them a go!

It's so hard to pick just a few favourite films for the summer months because I actually ended up watching twenty nine (!!!) new films over the months of June, July & August. But if I had to pick just one favourite for each month they would be; Before Sunrise, Her & The Social Network. The last one especially has become a new favourite of all time, I've rewatched it twice since and I keep recommending it to everyone, so if you haven't seen The Social Network I would definitely say it's worth a watch!

As always there's been lots of beautiful new songs that I've loved listening to, here's just a few of my favourites;

✧ Summer Guest, Asgeir
✧ Shotgun, George Ezra
✧ I Am With You, Benjamin Francis Leftwich
✧ Rose, Honest Men
✧ The End of Love, Florence + The Machine
✧ Scotland, The Lumineers

My new fragrance favourite is this beauty from Dior– I got the chance to work with them this summer on the release of their new range and was very grateful to get my hands on the scent Balade Sauvage which to me smells just like citrus on a summer breeze. I've been wearing it at every opportunity I get!

One of the apps I've been obsessed with using recently has been Over, it's an amazing app for creating collages or layouts, you can add all kinds of graphics and images– from your own gallery or from theirs and they have a bunch a beautiful fonts to add to! It's got me feeling inspired to create new banners for this blog and make my Instagram stories for aesthetic...if you've been wondering what I use for my stories– chances are it's been Over!

Something I've been making more time for over the summer has been breakfast... and since the weather was so good, I especially loved the times I could head outside with my bowl of granola, get some fresh air and read some of my book– it was always such a peaceful start to the day.

I hope you've enjoyed this little look back at my summer favourites... I'm honestly pretty happy to be wrapping up summer because my favourite time of year is finally year & I can't wait to make the most of every moment of autumn, there's so much to look forward to! If you had any summer favourites to share, feel free to leave a comment or instead let me know one thing you're looking forward to for autumn!
