JOURNAL PAGES + HOW I JOURNAL.

By Polly Florence - October 23, 2017

Journaling is one of my most favourite things to do, it's a perfect outlet for my creativity and when I'm feeling particularly anxious I find it really calms me down. I am a bit up and down with how often I journal but recently I have really got back into journaling a lot more regularly.

When I started posting pictures of my journal on my Instagram I had such a lovely response and lots of you were interested in seeing more about how I journal, so I'm excited to share this post with you!

First of all the most frequently asked question I get when it comes to my journaling is where do I get my journal from? It's from Paperchase and you can find it HERE!

Next I wanted to share with you the things I usually use to do journal spread which isn't actually that much! I tend to use a lot of scraps of paper, old brown paper bags, tickets, pictures from Pinterest that I usually just print out from my phone, little polaroid style pictures that I get printed from SuperSnaps— anything I can get my hands on really! I've also been loving these beautiful stickers I was very kindly sent by Irina Birdie that just fit perfectly in my journal— you can find her shop HERE!

In terms of the equipment I use to journal I honestly keep it pretty simple, I mostly use ordinary Pritt Stick and some washi tape too— mostly to stick my pictures in. The washi tapes I use most often are ones I brought from Paperchase and I'm loving using Muji pens after picking some up when I was in New York, the one I'm using most at the moment is the black Gel Ink Pen 0.5

I've also been really into using stamps as well to add something different to my pages. These letter stamps I picked up from Tiger and are such good value and the travel stamps I found on Amazon, I just love the way they look!

Usually when I'm starting a new journal spread I try to kind of have a plan of how I want it to look before I start— mainly because I'm such a perfectionist and I know if I don't I'll get frustrated when it doesn't turn out looking the way I want it too (I learned this the hard way!!) and then from there it's just a case of sticking everything down and the writing usually goes in last.

I journal about pretty much anything, random thoughts and feelings, what I've been doing, reading & watching, playlists— the list goes on! I basically try to get as much down as possible as I have THE WORST memory so being able to look back at a years worth of journaling really does keep everything fresh in my mind and I cherish the fact I can hold on to these memories for as long as possible.

So that's a basic overview of how and what goes into one of my journal spreads. Please let me know in the comments if you like this kind of post and if you have any other journaling related questions, I'd love to maybe do more journaling posts and maybe a Q&A if you have more questions! As always, thank you so much for reading!

X
